Day 2 - Just Outside of St. Louis, MO to Catoosa, OK

It was Day 2 and the kiddos were still suspiciously well behaved. The adults were silently counting their blessings! Seriously, though, not even one argument, tiff or whine. We were seriously singing praises!

After showers, breakfast and one quick Wal-Mart run (how can you sleep in the Wal-Mart parking lot all night long and NOT think of something you need to run in and get?!) we were back on the road. Our mission: make it to the "Big, Blue Whale of Catoosa." The whale is one of many Historic Route 66 Roadside Attractions and we all were excited to check it out.

After a pretty uneventful day of traveling we made it to Catoosa around 6 pm. The town's whale did not disappoint and we all had a blast taking pictures and just enjoying the history of the monument.

I would venture to say that our night accomodations at the Cherry Hill Mobile Home and RV Park were by far the nicest that we will probably encounter on this trip. The park was very well maintained, friendly with lots of shade and hospitality. We were lucky to find this place right inside of Tulsa where we swam for awhile before grilling out again. Our site had a large grassy area perfect for setting up the grill and all of our lawn chairs for a night of star gazing and marshmallow roasting. Seriously, once the girls were in bed I know we remarked at least 3 or 4 times that we'd love just to sit out there all night. It was a perfect summer night.

We all slept much better as we kept the generator running which equaled plenty of AC througout the night! We were up again this morning to shower, eat and hit the road for some more road trippin'!

Next up: Tulsa, OK to We Don't Know Yet!
