Grand Canyon Sunset Jeep Tour

We decided that while visiting the Grand Canyon we wanted to experience the beauty of a sunset as it poured its last rays over the jutting cliffs and sunken valleys of the canyon. We knew that it would be hard to find a more beautiful sunset than that of a sunset over the Grand Canyon. We were right.

We booked a Jeep tour for our group of 10 and set out on Wednesday evening at 4:45 pm. Our guide took us through the Kaibab forest, located adjacent to the Grand Canyon National Park, in an open air jeep while telling us all about the local animal and plant life of the national forest. We hoped to spot an elk or two but such was not our luck that night. It didn't matter though because the tour of the forest was beautiful all by itself.

Following the tour of the Kaibab forest we headed toward a couple of outlook points at the canyon and our guide led us on a couple of short hikes to get a better view. At the last point we were able to experience one of the most beautiful sunsets that any of us will probably ever see. It was completely amazing and a perfect way to cap off our visit to the Grand Canyon.

Our guide, Urich.

Beautiful Junipers in the Kaibab forest

Damaged part of the forest due to forest fires.

Obviously Kayla didn't find the forest quite as exciting as we did :)
